What are Hosted Virtual Desktops?
Hosted virtual desktops are centrally managed, server based desktops, commonly known as VDI but running in our Hosting Center. Desktops as a Service (DaaS) provide all the benefits of a physical PC without the investment in hardware and management. Our Hosted Virtual Desktops may be accessed from the LAN or WAN, and available from desktops, laptops, netbooks, thin clients, iPads, iPhones, BlackBerrys and other mobile devices.
The program uses HDX technology, which is a set of capabilities that delivers a "high definition" desktop virtualization user experience to end users for any application, device or network. These user experience enhancements balance performance with low bandwidth – anything else becomes impractical to use and scale. HDX technology provides network and performance optimizations to deliver the best user experience over any network, including low bandwidth and high latency WAN connections
What if you're a family of four or one of twenty employees at a business? Buying computers for everyone in your home or office isn't enough; you also have to purchase software for each PC (e.g. Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Access, Outlook), and an antivirus program, etc.). Whenever you have a new PC or a new version of software, you have to buy more software.
So, instead of installing a suite of software for each computer, you'd only have to load one application. That application would allow family members or workers to log into a Web-based service which hosts all the programs the user would need. Remote machines owned by another company would run everything from e-mail to word processing to complex data analysis programs. It's called cloud computing.
In a cloud computing system, there's a significant workload shift. Local computers no longer have to do all the heavy lifting when it comes to running applications. Hardware and software demands on the user's side decrease. The only thing the user's computer needs to be able to run is the cloud computing system's interface software, which can be as simple as a Web browser, and the cloud's network takes care of the rest.
Examples of a few reasons why you would want "Cloud Computing":
•Clients would be able to access their applications and data from anywhere at any time. They could access the cloud computing system using any computer linked to the Internet. Data wouldn't be confined to a hard drive on one user's computer or even a business's internal network.
•It could bring hardware costs down. Cloud computing systems would reduce the need for advanced hardware on the client side. You wouldn't need to buy the fastest computer with the most memory, because the cloud system would take care of those needs for you. Instead, you could buy an inexpensive computer terminal. The terminal could include a monitor, input devices like a keyboard and mouse and just enough processing power to run the middleware necessary to connect to the cloud system. You wouldn't need a large hard drive because you'd store all your information on a remote computer.
•Businesses that rely on computers have to make sure they have the right software in place to achieve goals. Cloud computing systems give these organizations company-wide access to computer applications. The companies don't have to buy a set of software or software licenses for every employee. Instead, the company could pay a metered fee to a cloud computing company.
•Servers and digital storage devices take up space. Some companies rent physical space to store servers and databases because they don't have it available on site. Cloud computing gives these companies the option of storing data on someone else's hardware, removing the need for physical space on the front end.

DESKTOP IMAGE
Desktop images are customized for every client's specific end user needs. Desktops are launched from a "golden image" and all use the most up-to-date image. Standard and custom applications are updated once on the server to simplify updates and patches and eliminate errors.
HARDWARE
REQUIREMENTS
Minimal endpoint computing power is required. Devices are required to have a reliable network connection. Repurposed desktops, thin clients, Netbooks, iPads /iTouches are all supported.
Hosted Virtual Windows 7 Subscription is a service to access a cloud based virtual PC of Windows 7. Your monthly subscription fee allows you access to a virtual Windows 7 operating system and all its features. You will have access to your local computer's data (e.g. My Documents) and printer while in you virtual Windows 7 space. You will be able to install any programs that are needed. You can access your virtual PC from any computer with an internet browser (e.g. Internet Explorer).
What do you get?
Windows 7 Desktop environment, accessed with a username and password thru any web browser. This package includes Windows 7 Desktop, 2GB memory, Windows Operating System patches, free anti-virus, local and network print services, and controlled removable media storage.
SERVICE LEVEL.
CNA promises that during the time CNA Services are to be provided the data center network will be available 100% of the time month-to-month, excluding pre-noticed scheduled maintenance. CNA shall not, however, be liable for any interruption due to force majeure or to any interruption on account of any breach of duty by Customer. CNA will, however, make commercially acceptable efforts to minimize any interruption due to force majeure and in any such case, Customer shall cooperate with CNA to minimize any such interruption and mitigate damages. The data center network means the portion of the network extending from the inbound port on CNA's edge device (i.e., router or switch) which includes the CNA managed servers, switches, routers and cabling.
SERVICE LEVEL CREDIT.
CNA will credit the Customer's account five (5) percent of the monthly fee for each sixty (60) minutes of network downtime, up to 100% of the monthly fee for the affected DESKTOP. If interruption time exceeds the monthly fee, the same shall be credited against immediately succeeding months, but shall not be credited retroactively or otherwise refunded. Issuance of credits is subject to the following requirements i) Notification of downtime must be made to CNA support by the Customer by e-mail notification or CNA-logged phone call, ii) the duration of the downtime will start upon receipt of notification and end upon restoration of service, iii) CNA will promptly notify the Customer of the time and date of restoration of service, iv) CNA will issue a credit memo to Customer after restoration of service.
